Topstrip · for Windows 10 & 11

One thin strip. Everything you glance at.

An Omarchy-style top bar for Windows: workspaces, a centered clock, your tray apps and system status, 26 pixels tall across the top of the screen.

▣ menu

Menu

Settings, a quick theme switch, Hide Bar, your apps, lock, restart and shut down. Right-click for a terminal.

02 · eleven themes

Pick one. Watch it repaint.

The bar, this page and the painting behind it all switch to the theme you choose.

03 · behaves like it belongs

Part of Windows, not on top of it.

  • Real space reservation. Maximized windows stop below the bar, just like they stop above the taskbar. Fullscreen videos and games cover it.
  • Hide it any time. Win+Alt+T gives the space back. Press it again to bring the bar back. Try it here.
  • Every monitor. The main display, one display, or a full bar on each of them.
  • Updates itself. A badge appears next to the clock when a new version is ready. Click it and Topstrip updates and restarts.
  • Keeps your taskbar. It doesn't replace the taskbar. Many people set the taskbar to auto-hide.

04 · install

Unzip. Run. That's it.

  1. 1

    Download

Get Topstrip-<version>-win-x64.zip from the latest release. On an ARM PC, take -win-arm64.zip.

  2. 2

    Run Topstrip.exe

It installs itself for your user: a Start menu entry, an Installed apps entry, and Open at Login.

  3. 3

    Make it yours

Pick a theme, a clock format and which widgets to show. For the exact Omarchy look, install a Nerd Font.

Windows SmartScreen may warn the first time, because the exe isn't code-signed yet. Choose More info → Run anyway. Requires Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.

Questions

Does it replace the Windows taskbar?

No. The taskbar keeps working, and Topstrip sits at the top. Many people set the taskbar to auto-hide.

The Wi-Fi name doesn't show.

On Windows 11 24H2 and later, apps need location access to read the network name. Signal strength works either way.

Can I run it without installing?

Yes. Put an empty file named Topstrip.portable next to Topstrip.exe and it runs from where it is.

How do I uninstall it?

Settings → Apps → Installed apps → Topstrip → Uninstall. It asks whether to keep your settings.

Where are my settings?

In %APPDATA%\Topstrip\settings.json, with a log next to it in topstrip.log. Attach the log to bug reports.
